General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS)
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS) apply to all sales concluded on the website of Vélos d’Autrefois, operating under the MAFAC brand. Their purpose is to define the rights and obligations of the parties in the context of the online sale of spare parts for vintage bicycles.

2. Purpose and Scope
These GTCS govern the sale of spare parts for vintage bicycles made through the Vélos d’Autrefois website. Any order implies the buyer’s unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3. Products
The products offered for sale are described and presented as accurately as possible. Photographs, descriptions, and technical documents are non-contractual. The parts offered are reproductions compatible with historical MAFAC components and are not original parts manufactured during the 1940s–1980s.
Product offers are valid while stocks last.
4. Prices
Prices are indicated in euros, all taxes included (TTC). In accordance with the VAT exemption regime (Article 293 B of the French Tax Code), VAT is not applicable. Shipping costs are added to the product price according to the terms specified during the ordering process.
5. Orders
Any order is validated upon acceptance of payment. The buyer must accept these GTCS by checking the designated box before payment. Validation of the order constitutes acceptance of the GTCS and forms the sales contract.
The seller reserves the right to refuse any order for legitimate reasons, particularly in the event of a previous dispute with the buyer or non-payment.
6. Payment
Accepted payment methods are credit/debit cards and PayPal. Full payment is due at the time of order.
7. Delivery
Products are shipped worldwide.
- France: estimated delivery time 3 to 5 business days.
- Europe: estimated delivery time 5 to 15 business days.
- Rest of the world: estimated delivery time 5 to 15 business days.
Shipping costs are fixed according to the size and weight of the ordered items. Delivery times are estimates and may vary. The buyer is responsible for any customs duties or import taxes applicable in their country.
8. Right of Withdrawal
In accordance with the French Consumer Code, the buyer has a period of 14 days from receipt of the products to exercise the right of withdrawal without providing any reason. Products must be returned in their original condition, and return shipping costs are borne by the buyer. Refunds will be issued within 14 days after receipt of the returned products.
However, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for the supply of goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized. The textile items offered on this website are manufactured on demand after order confirmation, via a third-party provider, and are not held in stock. They are considered products made according to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalized.
9. Legal Warranties
Products benefit from the legal guarantees of conformity provided by Articles L217-3 and following of the French Consumer Code, as well as the warranty against hidden defects provided by Articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code.
10. Liability
The products offered are intended exclusively for vintage bicycles. Their installation and use are entirely the responsibility of the buyer. Vélos d’Autrefois declines all liability in the event of accidents resulting from improper use.
Products sold by Vélos d’Autrefois are intended for collection purposes and the restoration of display bicycles. They are not certified for modern road use and cannot under any circumstances be considered compliant with current bicycle safety standards. Their installation and use are entirely at the buyer’s own risk.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the website (texts, images, logos, trademarks) is protected by intellectual property laws. Any reproduction, use, or distribution without prior authorization is prohibited.
12. Personal Data
The personal data collected (name, address, email, payment details) are necessary for order processing. They are never transmitted to third parties for commercial purposes. The buyer has the right to access, rectify, and delete their personal data in accordance with the GDPR.
13. Applicable Law and Disputes
These GTCS are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, and after an attempt to reach an amicable solution, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in accordance with applicable legal rules.
14. Consumer Mediation
In accordance with the French Consumer Code, the customer has the right to use a consumer mediator free of charge for the amicable resolution of a dispute.
